Hi Kelly

My first and only peice of advice is if there is an FA meeting near you get yourself and your family along to it.
If there isn't then we can arrange Lone Support either by phone or E-mail.
The "Where to Find" which is a list of meetings is on the website as well check it out.
If you want ...

Hi LA

We don't have them electronically but we do have a booklet all about the 12 steps which expands on each step to give the reader a real understanding of the meaning of each step.
I would suggest that you contact the office in London and order a copy or buy one at your group should you attend ...

Hi Ally

I can fully understand your feelings of jealousy.
Any 12 step programme is a "self" programme, it is all about getting one's self confidence, esteem, worth, respect back again, but for someone on the outside looking in it can appear selfish.
Your partner needs to concentrate on his ...

Hi Jeremy

I know exactly how you feel, or I should say I knew exactly how you felt. I have had very similar conversations with my own son, conversations that I knew were going nowhere but for some unknown reason cntinued with it.
The result as you say was eventual exhaustion.
As I said in my ...

Good Evening Paul & Paul

I've just been reading your posts, I was taken by your comment of day dreaming. I have felt exactly the same way myself, isn't it an indication of how having an addict in the family changes ones expectations.
Other parents would be hoping for far "greater" things from their ...

Hi Paul

My wife and I only found FA 5 years ago, I wish we'd found it so many years earlier as our son has been using one form of drug or another for 13 years. Allowing for the fact that he is only 26 thats half his life.
Is he still using now ? I don't know,I suspect he is but at least now I ...

Hi Sam

I think I'd rather think of our "old timers" as established members, probably just my age.

I think you've raised some interesting issues, problem being I don't think there are easy answers.

Having properly structered meetings is an absolute must, agreeing theme's and the chairperson ...
