Appreciation
When we do something good for someone else, we want to experience that goodness being given back to us. But we often experience jus the opposite. We may give time and energy to others and receive little or no appreciation. We are taken for granted. or else people use us and go their own way without so much as a "Thank you." Is it possible that this lack of appreciation stems from the fact we're offering "help" where no help is wanted ?
Still, there are other people in our lives who do respond in warm ways, often giving much more to us than we've given them. These people we may forget quickly . Why then is it so hard to forget those who slight us? Is it because we have an exaggerated sense of how deserving we are?
I find the best approach is to concentrate on all the love, assistance, friendliness, and welcome I receive, allowing everything else to fade into the distance.
TODAY I WILL be grateful for every kindness and take no blessing for granted.
