An NA perspective

Post by Bette »

Hi All.
This may help some of you who are struggling. If it does, I am glad.

I've been to a couple of Narcotics Anonymous conventions. To hear recovering addicts share their stories and explain how their lives were prior to recovery, and how they were afterwards, was so inspirational, reassuring and filled me with hope.

The one thing that they all said, without exception, was that the best thing that their families did for them was to step out of the way. They ALL said that the strong message of "We love you BUT NO, we will not enable or support you in this way anymore" was what they needed to hear and was the beginning of change for them.

Hearing that was so powerful for me. That each one of them said the same thing was significant.

I just thought I would share that with you all. It may help some of you on your journey.

Best Wishes everyone. Trust in whatever Higher Power you choose that all will work out as it should.

Lots of love
Bette
